Eulogy

So today, I've decided to tear down my main windows PC that has served me faithfully for a number of years.  But how many years have gone by?   I had completely forgotten when it was that I had first assembled and installed this machine.

After a little googling, I learned that the systeminfo command also shows the installation date.  It turns out that I've been running the same installation of Windows XP since:  11/5/2003, 10:06:14 PM   That's 5 years,  3 weeks, and 2days.

The Machines specs at this time are:

CPU: Athlon XP 3200  2.2Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Motherboard:   Abit NF7-S,  (Nvidia nForce2 chipset w/ Soundstorm audio)
Disk:  2x 160GB SATA hd's in a RAID 0
1 DVD-ROM
1 DVD-RW  (which acts flakey now and then and won't burn sometime)

The Machine is inside a Super Micro SC750a case (which was the home of the previous rig.)

It's been replaced with a Macbook Pro.

It's hostname was gemini.

RIP buddy.   We've had some fun times.

REM & Muppets - Furry happy monsters

This makes Raquel and Me happy. (btw, the resemblance of the singing muppet to Kate Pierson is too funny)

La Flaca

Another song from Jarabe de Palo. La Flaca. Great song!

Edit: I guess I should explain a little for the non-Spanish speaking among us. This song is referring to a woman; a woman so fine, that he would give anything just get a kiss from her.

Bonito

This song is from a Spanish band called "Jarabe de Palo." Loosely translated it means "the Syrup from the Root"

I had heard this song a few times but never knew who the artist was. Thanks to my Brother-in-law (Hi Helmer!) who is a big fan. He hipped me to to it over the holidays. This video is awesome and fits the song so well. I'm bloging this cause it reflects my mood and outlook at the moment.
